O God, before whom generations of your people rise and pass away, we praise you for all your servants who, having lived this life in faith, now live eternally with you.
Especially we thank you for your servant Betty Ann, whose life we celebrate and whose baptism is now complete in death.
We praise you for the gift of her life, for all the many things in her that were good and kind and loving; for the many gifts and talents you gave her.
We thank you for the way she enriched our lives and the lives of all those around her. We thank you for the way you caused the light and brilliant colors of her life to so vividly shine into ours. We thank you for the way the symphony of her life, resonated and was so richly heard in our own lives.
We ask, O God, that you place in our hearts, the realization that our tribute to Betty is not the depths of our grief, but, rather, the heights of our gratitude for the wonderful privilege of sharing her life.
We thank you that for Betty, death is past and pain ended, and that she has now entered the joy you have prepared; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
