My earliest memory of Betty was when I was four years old and staying with her family while my mother was in the hospital giving birth to my sister, Cynthia. I can remember her trying to convince me to sleep in the bedroom with her, but being rather shy, I declined. As the years went by there were many more memories–wonderful Christmases and birthdays, family dinners and, of course, her wedding to Mickey. We have had the privilege of keeping in touch with each other for many years, and the news of her family her book recommendations, and her cheerful attitude were always something to look forward to. I shall miss her terribly.
