Never too old

Your mother Betty was a wonderful woman. She inspired me to keep going for my Ph.D. in mid-life, just as she had. We shared many stories of how we “late-bloomers” or “resumers” managed family, work, and academics. I will always admire her tenacity for learning and “stepping up to the plate” in life. Working on the stained glass essays with her was a labor of love. I felt so very supported and cared for. Her quiet calm was addictive and I will never cry “too old” for anything — particularly how I watched her navigate her computer skills! A no-excuse lady!! I’m lucky to have worked with her. — Linda Johnson (MSU Ph.D. 2011)
